When i was a kid, all the way through high school, I was always  picked by my family for my curiosity ,logic and it was very hurtful.

I am curious as to what is considered the right way to approach a young child having higher IQ. Teasing and being laughed at does not do it, and it certainly damages the self esteem, which can be fragile in those early years.

Now that I am an adult man in my 50s, I still struggle to some extent with scars ,scratches received at that tender age.  I am curious , but I  also  learn. I talk healthy, and work several times more than others. I wish I knew how to bear  that when i was a kid - i.e. handle what is basically bullying behavior using someone's IQ as an excuse. I am open to having discussions when someone genuinely is concerned about this prevalent practice - as opposed to someone trying to make me feel bad about myself, to feed his ego.
